On Friday, 13th April, members of the gardening club and several visitors travelled to Cardiff to enjoy this year's RHS Flower Show held in Cardiff Castle's Bute Park.
The weather forecast held true (for once) and although a little chilly, the day stayed dry.
There was plenty to see at this year's Show with Regeneration Gardens making their debut showcasing how to "green up grey spaces" and help support the environment. There were two Floral Marquees with some beautiful displays of plants and cut flowers.
Throughout the day, interactive talks were held by popular gardening celebrities and leading experts, providing inspiration for gardening enthusiasts of all levels.
Alongside the show gardens and marquees, there was the chance to see the latest in gardening tools, equipment and outdoor furniture.
The grounds of the park also featured some wonderful craft and food stalls.
A special feature of the Show was an exhibition of decorated wheel barrows created by local school children to promote awareness of plastic pollution in our seas. The public were allowed to vote for their favourite.
Many thanks to Helen Nolan for organising such an enjoyable trip.
