Following the talk by Tony Russell,  my husband and I visited Plas Tan y Bwlch whilst in North Wales recently.   We travelled to the garden along the Ffestiniog steam railway from Porthmadog getting off at the Plas halt which is just before Tan y Bwlch station.  There is a footpath down to the garden which is about 10 minute walk.

The garden itself has many magnificent large trees and lots of other interesting plants.  There were for example some nice very small flowered fushias.  The areas damaged in the storm that Tony mentioned were evident and some new planting has been done.   We had an excellent lunch in the tea room which has stunning views.  Afterwards we walked along footpaths through the trees to Tan y Bwlch station which took about 20 minutes.

We are very fortunate to live in area with such a wealth of beautiful gardens to visit.

Susan Martin, Gardening Club member, recently visited Plas Tan Y Bwlch and here is a short account of her visit and some lovely photos.
