The NDGG's annual dyeing workshop took place in the Search Engine of the National Wool Museum on the 25th October. Pupils from Ysgol Penboyr visited the workshop in small groups throughout the day, and 4 members of the School's Eco Group were present throughout to help with activities. The children were also taken outside to the dye beds to talk about using recycled plastic containers when gardening.
The colours produced this year were particularly vibrant and this may well have been due to the long period of hot dry weather. The results certainly justified all the work keeping the beds watered throughout the dry spell. Both yarn and fabric fibre were dyed and this included pieces of Welsh cloth to tie in with the School's project on heritage.
