Make a note of the date! Tuesday, 6th June 2017
This year’s trip is to Powis Castle and Gardens and is on Tuesday 6th June.
We will be travelling by coach (with a working toilet) leaving the Red Dragon Hall, Drefach Felindre at 9am, arriving at Powis Castle between 11.00 and 11.30am. No stop will be made on the way.
We will be making the return journey without a stop leaving Powis Castle at 4pm.
This is a National Trust property so the entry would be free to NT members but non members will be charged £10.60 each for the house and gardens.
The cost of the coach will be £10 per person.
To operate the trip at these costs we need 35 people to book, so we are opening it to friends and families.
Non returnable deposits of £5.00 per person please to be paid at the April meeting and full payment by the May meeting.
The world famous garden is overhung with clipped yews and shelters rare and tender plants laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles; it retains its original lead statues and an orangery on the terraces with lavish herbaceous borders. High on a rock above the terraces, the castle, originally built circa 1200, began life as a medieval fortress.
